Ethics & Responsibility

Our Commitment to Responsible Craftsmanship

At La Botanique we believe that beauty carries meaning only when it is created with integrity. Our artificial flowers are designed to last for years, but they must also come from places where people are treated with dignity and the environment is respected. Everything we create begins with this principle. We work continuously to ensure that our supply chain reflects fair conditions, ethical production and long-term responsibility.

Ethical Production and Human Rights

We choose to work with producers who share our values. This includes a zero-tolerance approach to child labour, forced labour and unsafe working environments. When suppliers can provide documentation or recognised certifications, we review them carefully to ensure that every arrangement we offer is made under safe and respectful conditions.

A number of our key partners operate according to internationally recognised frameworks such as amfori BSCI. These standards promote fair wages, safe workplaces, non-discrimination, reasonable working hours and the right to organise. By prioritising suppliers who follow such principles, we reinforce ethics and human rights throughout a major part of our production chain.

Transparency and Fair Working Conditions

We collaborate only with producers who show openness in their processes. When full documentation is available, we rely on verified standards. When documentation is still developing, we maintain close communication to support improvement, accountability and increased transparency.

Every La Botanique product is meant to reflect what we stand for: equality, openness, dignity and care. These values should be present not only in the design you see, but in every step that took place before it reached our atelier.

Environmental Responsibility

One of the greatest environmental strengths of high-quality artificial flowers is durability. Because our arrangements are designed to last for many years, they naturally reduce waste, minimise overproduction and cut down on the repeated transport emissions related to fresh flower logistics.

Several of our producers are actively working to lower their environmental impact, including reducing energy consumption, limiting chemical use and implementing long-term resource efficiency. Some use FSC-verified materials, contributing to more responsible and traceable sourcing.

Climate Impact

Studies show a clear difference between the carbon footprint of fresh flowers and long-lasting artificial arrangements. A fresh bouquet emits around 2.5 kg of CO₂ on average. A premium artificial bouquet emits approximately 1 to 2 kg as its initial footprint but can be used for years, which significantly reduces total emissions over time.

Some of our larger partners have also received climate certification from Climate Neutral Group, meaning their emissions are measured, reduced where possible and compensated through approved climate projects. This aligns with our broader ambition to work with suppliers who take climate impact seriously.

Verified Responsibility

Within our supply chain there are producers who are B Corp certified, follow amfori BSCI, use FSC-verified materials or have third-party climate certifications. We do not require a single identical certification from all suppliers, but we do require that every partner meets our expectations regarding ethics, safety, transparency and responsible production.

Our Promise

When choosing La Botanique customers can trust that we actively prioritise ethical craftsmanship and responsible sourcing. We choose partners who demonstrate verified standards whenever possible, and we continue to elevate expectations even in areas where documentation is still developing.

Our products are created with longevity in mind, reducing environmental impact while offering interiors long-lasting beauty. We remain committed to improving ethics, sustainability and transparency throughout our entire supply chain, today and in the years ahead.
